Richard Rapp is a senior human resources executive with more than 18 years’ experience in human resources and corporate global strategy. He has held human resource (HR) officer positions with global financial services firms and international banks and has experience as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
At Vertus, Richard serves as Senior Consultant in sales and relationship management. He brings to the company, his extensive experience managing HR divisions, advising managers and employees in the HR Generalist function and managing the HR back office functions of compensation, benefits, administration, HRIS, and international services. His has guided corporations through re-incorporations, implemented culture building initiatives, created programs to address global employee engagement, and implemented manager effectiveness training.
Prior to joining Vertus, Richard was Global Head of HR at Shinsei Bank, where he led the bank’s restructuring efforts to survive the 2008 financial crisis. Richard also served as Head of Executive Compensation, Benefits, HRIS and International Services at Morgan Stanley in Japan. In addition, he served as Global Payroll Migration Lead / Global Talent & Engagement Lead, Sr. Vice President, HR Shared Services (HRSS) in New York.
Richard holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Connecticut, where he pitched for the UCONN baseball team during the 1982-83 season. He lived in Asia for more than 20 years, where he met and married his wife, with whom he has “two wonderful bicultural sons”.
