Geoff Apgar serves Vertus clients as a Senior Consultant and Risk Advisor. With more than 30 years of experience in employee benefits, he helps clients arrive at solutions that meet their business strategies and objectives. Using a disciplined approach rooted in his experience, including financial underwriting, business development, new client engagement and managing ongoing client service, Geoff unlocks hidden value in existing programs and finds new opportunities to address the changing needs of his clients.
Geoff’s diverse background includes specialization in several aspects of the employee benefit experience, He has worked in many industries as well as Public Sector Employers. Geoff’s client engagements range from small employers to the Fortune 500. In addition, he successfully launched his own start-up firm. These experiences have given Geoff a broad base of expertise he leverages for the benefit of his clients.
Geoff attended DePauw University, where he played football and was honored to be a part of The DePauw University Athletic Hall of Fame. He holds a professional designation as a Certified Leave Management Specialist (CLMS) from the Disability Management Employers Coalition (DMEC).
Geoff and his wife Patricia have six children and reside in Libertyville, Illinois. He is active in the community as a Board Member of the Libertyville Little League and with the Libertyville Boys Club.
